Which to choose
- Boiler — the deciding spec. The Bezzera BZ10 uses a heat exchanger (hx) and the Breville Oracle a dual boiler. A single boiler kept at steam temperature with a heat-exchanger tube drawing brew water through it — so you can pull a shot and steam milk at the same time. The prosumer sweet spot. Separate boilers for brew and steam, each independently temperature-controlled. The most stable, most flexible architecture — and the most expensive. This drives most of the milk-drink workflow and price difference between them.
- Temperature. The Breville Oracle has PID temperature control (steadier shot-to-shot consistency); the Bezzera BZ10 does not.
- Portafilter — accessories don't transfer. The Bezzera BZ10 takes a 58mm portafilter and the Breville Oracle a 54mm, so tampers, bottomless portafilters and baskets bought for one won't fit the other.
- Built-in grinder. The Breville Oracle grinds and brews in one machine; with the Bezzera BZ10 you add a separate grinder — more counter space and another purchase, but a free choice of grinder and easier to upgrade.
