What the specs mean for you
Dual boiler: brew and steam are independently temperature-controlled, so back-to-back milk drinks don't compromise shot temperature. PID holds brew temperature steady shot to shot — the single biggest upgrade over a thermostat-only machine at this tier. Pre-infusion wets the puck gently before full pressure, which helps extraction on lighter roasts. No built-in grinder — budget for a separate burr grinder; that's a real second purchase first-machine buyers often underestimate. Its 58mm portafilter is what determines which third-party baskets, tampers and bottomless portafilters fit — accessories sized for a different mm won't.
Who it's for
- Latte & cappuccino — Steam power and simultaneous brew/steam for milk-heavy drinks.
- Enthusiast / dialed-in — Temperature control, pre-infusion and flow for chasing the perfect shot.
The boiler, in plain terms
Separate boilers for brew and steam, each independently temperature-controlled. The most stable, most flexible architecture — and the most expensive. See every dual boiler machine →
